Mondial’s Creative Director Nadia Neuman was inspired to create Paradiso upon receiving the Argyle Blue Heart shape. The 0.25ct blue diamond from the Argyle Pink Diamond Tender in 2012 (Lot 62), is considered the rarest of rare. According to the Argyle Mine, a year’s supply of blue to violet diamonds would only fill a teaspoon. “The Heart is a universal shape representing love whereas the blue (rather than pink) colour of the diamond provides a stunning juxtaposition to the conventional. In my opinion the diamond represented the immortal nature of love and from there the story and design of Paradiso evolved.” Says Nadia Neuman
The Peacock feather is a symbol of immortality with the Peacock known to eat poisonous plants with no ill effects. Drawing upon this and the idea of everlasting love and devotion, the name Paradiso is inspired by the mythology of ‘Paradise’ which often features exotic plants and birds from the Garden of Eden to Xanadu and beyond.
